Investing in Safety, Stability, and Stronger Futures

At Solar Club™, sustainability is about more than renewable energy and cleaner power. It is about creating conditions where people, families, and communities can thrive for generations to come. That belief is at the heart of our decision to make a $10,000 donation to FearIsNotLove, an Alberta-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

FearIsNotLove is known for its thoughtful, person-centred approach to care. Their work extends far beyond immediate crisis support, focusing on long-term healing, safety, and stability. Through counselling, outreach, housing support, education, and prevention programs, they help individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. By addressing both the immediate and underlying factors that contribute to family violence, FearIsNotLove creates pathways toward lasting change rather than temporary relief.

This kind of holistic support closely aligns with Solar Club’s broader understanding of sustainability. Just as investing in solar energy is about building a resilient, cleaner energy system for the future, investing in community-based organizations is about strengthening the social foundations that allow communities to flourish. When individuals are supported in building safer homes and more stable lives, the positive impact reaches children, neighbourhoods, workplaces, and future generations.

The Solar Club’s foundation is based on a story written by Nobel Peace Laureate, Wangari Maathai. The belief in “doing what we can” infuses every action we take with meaning, and extends to this donation to FearIsNotLove.

This donation is part of Solar Club’s commitment to making long-term, meaningful investments across Alberta through a growing legacy of community support. We encourage you to learn more about FearIsNotLove and the essential work they do, and to consider donating to their programs if you are able. As Solar Club continues to expand, so too will our ability to support organizations that share a vision of a healthier planet and stronger communities. Stay tuned for future community investments, and thank you for being part of an energy movement that helps create positive change where we live, work, and play.
